迷思5：所学和真实世界脱节
I’ve listened and I’ve questioned,
yet the reason’s still unclear
I wrote down every figure, every fact, and every line
I even had called it out a thousand times
I’d try to clarify it if I only could discern it
Even though just days ago I thought I knew it all
One day when I am in a bind, and need to make a move
Will I know how to use it since the learning was removed ?

- 学生必须相信他们学的东西，和现实生活息息相关，也在离开教室之后，也一定还有价值。
- 生活中每项任务、每次考验，和每种新的磨练，能与课程结合，也才有意义，否则我们的努力将会白费，和日常生活也没有太大关联。
- 和生活无关的事，通常会被视为无关紧要，而对于不重要的事，我们也不用相信。
- 要让教学的内容和学习者的生活相关，最重要的是创造与真实生活有关的连结点，借此吸引学习者的兴趣。
- 做为学生，不管年纪多大，都会因下列某些理由而特别去注意某事：
- 信任的人如老师、亲友，都这么说
- 媒体报道
- 同侪的期待
- 下星期会考
- 如果现在不做，明天就会变成回家的功课
- 因为和生活有关
